Book Ends has been Winchester’s beloved indie bookstore since 1984. Located in the heart of Winchester’s historic downtown, Book Ends is a general interest bookstore, known for its huge selection of children’s books and for having a strong events program.
Do you love books and want to explore a career in the book industry? Book Ends is seeking an organized, motivated individual to join our management team. This is an entry level management position; the ideal candidate has experience in retail and/or the publishing industry and is looking to expand their knowledge of the industry and grow their people and project management skills. This position will support the co-owners and our kids and teen department manager. As such, this position will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of managing a bookstore. Responsibilities will include working on our store social media, writing the bi-monthly newsletter, organizing events, fielding event and stocking inquiries, and building in-store displays as well as offering exemplary customer service to our customers. A love and knowledge of books is a must. This position is full-time and includes benefits.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to work weekends/evenings as needed
- 1+ years working in retail OR book-related industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Age 18+
- Able to lift up to 40lbs (book boxes are heavy!) and be on your feet all day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 – $17.00 per hour
