Part-Time Children’s Library Assistant, Darien Library, Darien, CT

Darien Library seeks a friendly, energetic individual to work as a part-time Children’s Library Assistant. The successful candidate will have experience working with children, families, and caregivers, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide homework help and readers’ advisory. Candidates should also have a passion for providing exceptional customer service skills to all Library patrons and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Children’s Library Assistant may also conduct programming for children, including storytimes and school-age programs.

This is a part-time position with no benefits.

Hours: 6-9 hours/week, including one evening shift, and one weekend per month. This position also includes holiday coverage on a rotating basis, plus additional shifts as needed.

Salary: $20-$29.50 an hour, commensurate with experience and CLA minimum requirements.
