Come join the team at the Marlborough Public Library as the new Head of Adult Services and Technology! This is a brand new position that has been created to support all the new technology in our brand new library and build a robust Adult Services Department. This position is on library the supervisory team and would supervise a staff of 1 FT and 3 PT librarians. The library is seeking candidates who are adaptive, friendly, kind to others, patient, and fearless. We are looking for a librarian who is not afraid to try new things, is innovative, communicates well with other staff, and can come up with creative solutions when faced with a problem.

Duties include, leading the Adult Services department, overseeing collection development for the adult collection, overseeing management of study rooms and public computer use, responsible for service outcomes at the Information Desk, working with City IT and various IT vendors to ensure library equipment and services are working as expected, overseeing online databases, assisting with website and social media updates, providing technology help to patrons through one-on-one instruction or group classes, and more! Because this is a new position, it’s a great opportunity to make it your own.  

This is a 40 hr/week position with 1 evening per week and Saturdays on rotation. 

Qualifications

MLS, 1-3 years of public library experience, supervisory experience preferable. Proficiently in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable. For more information see the job posting on the City of Marlborough website
