The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Temporary and Part-time Senior Library and Knowledge Services Assistant to join our Boston, MA office part time. This position will work approximately 30 hours per week and collaborates with the team to support the tactical objectives for library offerings. Library objectives include processing incoming library materials, processing invoices, working with library vendors, and providing document delivery and ready references services to employees. This position will likely end in January of 2025.    

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Review and process Library invoices, providing documentation to the Billing Department and updating the Library’s invoice tracking system
  • Reconcile purchase card statements, providing documentation to the Billing Department and updating the Library’s invoice tracking system
  • Reallocate billable usage for fee-based database
  • Communicate with existing Library vendors to order, renew, or cancel print and online materials; consolidate all vendor communications in the appropriate place
  • Manage research databases usernames and passwords
  • Perform basic cataloging using the Library’s integrated library system (Soutron) for newly acquired content
  • Purchase books and materials as needed for consulting projects and collection development
  • Execute and manage document delivery requests for articles, textbooks and chapters by working with third party document delivery vendors to price, then license content and ensure copyright compliance
  • Assist employees with ready reference questions by retrieving and distributing materials and making photocopies

THE CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor’s Degree desired
  • 2 years of professional experience ideally in a library environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially SharePoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment by prioritizing multiple tasks and competing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate level of judgment
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service
  • Takes pride in working within a high quality, high-integrity organization
  • Eagerness to quickly learn new workflows processes, software, and systems
  • Requires physical activity including some bending and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds
