Law Library Assistant, Norfolk Law Library (Dedham, MA)

Under the direction and supervision of the Head Law Librarian, the (Temporary) Contract Employee will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Norfolk Law Library, including cataloging, book processing, loose-leaf filing, bill processing, research, and reference. The position is funded through June 30, 2024, and is part-time (up to 15 hours/week).
Qualifications
-Associate’s degree or law-related certificate (such as a Paralegal certificate), one to two years of legal or library experience, or enrolled in an MLIS program.
-Knowledge of library procedures, inter-library cooperation, and the types of resources and services available to librarians and library users is a plus.
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience of personal computers and software programs, including Word and Excel.
-Ability to reach with hands and arms, bend, climb, crouch, and lift materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
-Ability to gather, analyze, and report information.
-Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
-Ability to deal effectively with judges, court personnel, and the general public.
-Ability to work independently.
