The Hull Public Library is seeking a motivated individual to fill a 35-hour per week benefited position that oversees all aspects of Children’s Services. Hull is a coastal town on the South Shore of Massachusetts with a population of 10,000. The Library is located in the former summer home of Irish poet John Boyle O’Reilly.
Working under the direct supervision of the Library Director, the Children’s Librarian will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing library services to children and teens, and is responsible for collection development, programming, outreach and reader’s advisory support.
Work schedule to include two evenings per week, two Saturdays per month and some shifts on the Circulation desk.
Qualifications
Position requires a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited institution; candidates with a bachelor’s degree who are currently enrolled in library school with demonstrated progress toward the degree will be considered.
All candidates must have library experience as well as knowledge and familiarity with early literacy skills and children’s and teen literature. Excellent communication, technology and public service skills are also required.
