Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM) Scholarship
Posted January 30, 2024
Since its founding in 1956, the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM) has engaged in various projects and programs designed to advance the scholarly study of Latin America, the Caribbean, Iberia, and the Latinx diasporas. We are offering a scholarship that enables master’s candidates in an ALA-accredited library and information studies program or an archival studies program to attend the 69th annual SALALM conference, June 8-11, 2024, co-sponsored by The Latin American Library, Tulane University Libraries, The Roger Thayer Stone Center for Latin American Studies, and the Middle American Research Institute. Scholarship candidates must have completed at least one quarter or semester of study and have a strong interest in Latin America, the Caribbean, Iberia, or the Latinx diasporas.
The attached poster offers a brief overview of the SALALM Scholarship (a higher-resolution version for printing is available here). I hope the poster can be shared with students interested in careers in academic libraries or archives. I appreciate your assistance in bringing this award to their attention. The deadline for all application materials is Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
