Part-Time Circulation Technician, Ipswich Public Library, (Ipswich, MA)

The Ipswich Public Library seeks candidates to work Wednesday through Saturday at our Main
Floor circulation desk and serve as an on-call substitute at either of our two circulation desks
(Main Floor or Children’s Room). The desired candidate must deliver exceptional customer
service, attend closely to detail, possess confidence in interpreting and enforcing library policies
and procedures, enjoy interacting with the general public, and be dedicated to the mission of
public library service. 

Duties include charging materials to patrons, helping them with accounts and entering data in
the Library’s computer system.  Duties also include maintaining the order of the collection, and
gathering materials from the collection.

The schedule for this position is every other Wednesdays: 3-8pm, Thursdays: 1-5pm, Fridays: 1-
5pm and Saturday: 9am-2pm. You would also be invited to act as a substitute to cover other
shifts at our Main Floor or Children’s Room circulation desks as needs arise.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED, detail-oriented and good organizational skills, ability to use a
computer and interest to develop more technology skills, and ability to work with library staff
and the general public in a courteous and tactful manner. Light physical effort is required.
Must occasionally lift/move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

Pay rate is $17.54 per hour.
