Youth Services Librarian, Lithgow Public Library, (Augusta, ME)

Responsibilities
Oversees the Youth Services department, provides circulation, statistical, reference and research services to patrons, teaches library skills to children, and prepares and presents programs and displays. You will supervise a staff of part-time library aides and the Teen Services Coordinator, work closely with Director, Adult Services Department, and Technical Services. Supporting all programming efforts in the department. Candidate will conduct community outreach and build relations with area schools, day cares and organizations. Coordinate all book/material selection and collection development for the department and develop written policies with Director and other library staff. Candidate will promote the library’s youth programs and services in community and develops, promotes and implements the Summer Reading Program.

Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, with one evening shift/week, which is 11 am – 8 pm, and also one Saturday/month 8 am – 12 pm.

Requirements
Masters of Library Science/Library Information from an ALA-accredited school with 1 – 3 years of experience.

Pay Scale
Pay range NU15 – $24.93 to $33.98 depending on the skills and background of the candidate.
