Library – Electronic Resources Librarian, Sacred Heart University, (Fairfield, CT)

Position Summary

This new position at the Sacred Heart University Library is a key member of the Collections and Technology library team and handles processes and workflows associated with the electronic resource life cycle including acquisition, setup, and maintenance. This position will also include reference support and liaison librarian duties to be assigned.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interacts with library vendors, supports administrative processes for licensing and purchasing, including annual renewals in all formats.
  • Learns technology infrastructure to implement successful set up and access, and maintenance of library content. Supports efforts to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Learns and implements harvesting and analysis of usage statistics. Creates reports that showcase library trends on an annual basis.
  • Maintains proficiency in University Library software including Springshare, EBSCO HLM, EBSCONET, Koha, and OCLC Worldshare.
  • Performs academic reference consultations and library liaison duties. Serves on library committees and pursues professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes

  • ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of database and web technology preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
  • Interest and background in an academic subject area, second master’s preferred.
  • May perform all or some of the responsibilities above and other related duties as assigned.

Unusual Working Conditions

  • Occasionally required to work outside normal business hours.
