Digital Applications Archivist, Mount Holyoke, (South Hadley, MA)

Position Type: Staff Full-time Hours per week: 37.5    Weeks per year: 52 Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; occasional nights and/or weekends as needed  Salary Range:  $61,700 – $63,000
Department Summary & Job Purpose: Mount Holyoke College’s Library, Information and Technology Services (LITS) Division empowers a diverse and inclusive learning community, equipping every person to engage the world purposefully. Core Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Configures and administers digital archives and other digital content systems, including digital repositories, digital asset management systems, and collection management systems that support access and preservation of ASC and other digital collections at the College. 
  • Develops and enacts technical strategies and workflows for creating, managing, preserving, discovering, and accessing unique MHC digital content and collections, including born-digital materials.
  • Provides user support; helps develop content policy and data modeling; performs customizations; runs scripting for reports and task automation; and performs system updates. 
  • Ensures compliance with professional and technology standards, license and regulatory requirements, and MHC standards, policies, and procedures. 
  • Assists with reference and research services as assigned. 
  • Actively works with colleagues in LITS to create a welcoming, equitable, and user-centered environment in which a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff can thrive. 
  • Serves on LITS, College, and Five College committees as assigned. 
  • Engages in professional development through national and regional professional associations and other service opportunities. 
  • Evening and weekend work, as necessary. In some circumstances, assisting during adverse weather and emergencies may be important to cover essential services and service points.
  • The majority of work is performed on-site. This is not a remote position. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
