The Newbury Town Library’s mission is to provide free and open access to materials, services,

maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all library functions as defined by
the library’s mission statement, its long-range plan, and policies which the Mass Board of
Library Commissioners (MBLC) sets forth.
Collaborating with staff, the Director is responsible for creation of cost-effective programs and
services to meet the interests of all the town’s age groups. In conjunction with staff, the
Director’s role also encompasses conducting public relations and marketing campaigns to
communicate the work and value of the library to the community.
