Part-Time CATALOGING SPECIALIST in ACQUISITIONS & CATALOGING DEPARTMENT, The Wellesley Free Library, Wellesley, MA

The Wellesley Free Library (WFL) is seeking a fearless, flexible and fun part-time (16
hours/week) Cataloging Specialist in the Acquisitions and Cataloging Services (ACS)
Department. The ACS Department is responsible for ordering, receiving and processing books,
serials, and non-book materials selected for addition to the Wellesley Free Library’s (WFL)
collection. The Cataloging Specialist is responsible for assigning Dewey Decimal numbers,
preparing library materials for public use, providing support for placing orders with vendors,
processing invoices and special projects.
The work shifts are scheduled weekdays, Monday – Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM.
The requirements are an Associate’s Degree or two or more years of training beyond high school
or equivalent; two years of experience working in a library or related experience; working
knowledge of library classification and automated systems; ability to work accurately with
superior attention to detail; ability to adapt quickly and easily to new procedures and practices in
a continually evolving environment; excellent interpersonal, oral communication and customer
service skills; strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills; ability to consistently work
calmly and diplomatically, even in high pressure situations; computer skills including knowledge
of word processing.

Preferred: knowledge of Sierra ILS.
The hourly rate is $22.43 and the position is not benefit eligible.
