Professional Librarian (Part time/ Substitute Position), Winchester Public Library, (Winchester, MA)

The Winchester Public Library is seeking an energetic professional librarian to fill the position of
part-time Substitute Information Services Librarian to work on an occasional basis. There are no
guaranteed hours; subs are contacted by a Dept Head and either accept or decline depending on
availability.

Duties include providing general reference and readers advisory, technical assistance with
computer applications and the print management system, portable devices, downloads from
OverDrive and other applications, for teens and adults. Position reports to the Head of
Technology and Information Services.

Schedule: After minimal number of training hours scheduled at convenience of Head of the
department and selected candidate, ability to cover for illness, vacations, vacancies, etc as part of
a team of substitute librarians.

Salary: $30.53 – $44.58 per hour. No benefits. A CORI is required for the successful candidate.

Qualifications: MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution. Recent MLS graduates with
some library experience are encourage to apply. Excellent public service and oral and written
communication skills are required.
