Programming and Marketing Librarian, North Hampton Public Library, North Hampton, NH

The North Hampton Public Library is searching for a creative, outgoing, and friendly library
professional to join our amazing staff in our beautiful new library building! In this position, you
will help plan and facilitate programs and events as well as promote library services in the North
Hampton community.
The mission of the North Hampton Public Library is to meet the evolving educational, cultural,
informational and recreational needs of the community of North Hampton. The library, as a
community gathering place, provides a welcoming environment for all. The ideal candidate for
this position will have the skills and enthusiasm to serve our community through programming
and outreach.


JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Library Director, the Programming and Marketing
Librarian will oversee the successful development of events for all patrons and will create
marketing materials that connect residents with our library’s many offerings. This position also
supports circulation and reference services, and promotion of all library services and activities
throughout the community.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

● Master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited
program. Equivalent Master’s degrees and relevant experience considered.
● Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
● 1 or more years in customer service.
● 1 or more years of marketing experience at a library or similar institution.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

● Proficiency with Canva, MailChimp, WordPress and Microsoft Office (and
open-source equivalent) products.
● Experience coordinating events and activities in a library or similar setting.
● A strong background in computers/technology and non-print materials formats.
● Strong organizational talents.
● Experience with social media and marketing platforms.
● 1 or more years of experience working in a library, public library preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
○ Normal office environment
○ Regular interruptions to assist staff or public
○ Consistently required to use computer or telephone, necessitating eye-hand
coordination and finger dexterity
○ Regularly required to move, drive, bend, and reach.

Compensation and Benefits: $48,000 – $52,000/year, depending on qualifications benefits,
including health insurance and dental and pto.
Additional Information: This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Some evening
and Saturday hours are required.
