Instruction and Outreach Archivist, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO

Job Overview

Colorado State University Libraries seeks a collaborative, creative, and user-centered archivist for the new position of Instruction and Outreach Archivist. This position will provide leadership to develop, coordinate, and deliver instruction by collaborating with Libraries colleagues and CSU faculty to integrate primary source materials into the classroom that support the university’s teaching mission.  

Collaborating with Libraries colleagues, the Instruction and Outreach Archivist cultivates and promotes ongoing relationships with partners from across campus, including student organizations, academic departments and centers, and alumni to promote use of archival materials and digital content through a variety of advocacy methods to make these resources better known and accessible. Provides research and reference services to students, faculty, and other researchers and develops assessment metrics. Collaborates with Libraries colleagues for exhibit creation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Library/Information Sciences from ALA-accredited institution, or a Master’s degree in Archival Administration or similar field 
  • Experience working in libraries, archives, or special collections 
  • Experience providing reference and/or research services in an academic setting 
  • Demonstrated teaching or instruction experience in an academic library setting, preferably with primary source materials
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice and how they relate to the position and mission of the CSU Libraries.
