Who We Are:
The East End House Community Food Pantry serves individuals and families throughout Cambridge. We
support over 200 households per month by offering healthy, fresh, and shelf-stable foods twice a week. We work with partners like the Greater Boston Food Bank, Food Link, Food for Free, and Lovin’
Spoonfuls to supply our weekly resources and to ensure all patrons have access to adequate groceries.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up and clean the pantry space and help receive weekly food donations.
- Assist clients as they choose their own groceries from available fresh produce and shelf-stable foods.
- Help fill grocery bags for families in East End House, as well as for local seniors on Tuesdays.
- People skills are a must for this opportunity! This is also an ideal time to employ or practice language skills – particularly Haitian Creole, Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
- Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift a minimum of 20 lbs, though we are happy to make reasonable accommodations.
Please Note:
East End House is a NUT FREE zone. This includes peanuts and all other nuts. Please refrain from
bringing any nut products or items that may have come into contact with peanuts or other nuts into the
building.
T Accessibility & Parking:
Kendall/MIT (Red Line), Lechmere (Green Line), metered street parking.
