Position Summary
The Librarian III provides professional leadership and supervision of the Youth Department (Children’s and Teen Services), as well as programming and community engagement activities for all ages. This requires developing community partnerships to promote and support initiative programs and services that meet the current and emerging needs of the community and the Library. This position serves as a resource to and assists all Library service departments in the application of community outreach. They will be a member of the Executive and Senior Administration teams and will manage the Library in the absence of the Library Director and Assistant Director. Education and Experience
- A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution or closely related field is required, plus 5 years related experience, with at least 3 years’ experience with staff supervision and development, programming, education/training, and public speaking.
- Must have demonstrated ability of successfully managing concurrent outreach efforts, large- scale planning, coordination and execution of these efforts, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Working knowledge of library software for cataloging, and circulation services including LC
OCLC and MARC.
Salary and Benefits
- This full-time position offers a salary range of $68,004- $84,745 annually
