Library Director, Dighton Public Library, Dighton, MA

The Dighton Public Library Board of Trustees seeks qualified and experienced applicants to serve as the Dighton Public Library Director. The successful candidate will hold a Masters in Library Science (MLS) from an American Library Association accredited school or have library experience while attaining the MLS.

 The Library Director, under the supervision of the Board of Trustees and in accordance with Chapter 78 of the Massachusetts General Laws, will perform administrative, supervisory and technical work in planning and management of all library operations, including but not limited to personnel, budget, collection development, building maintenance, and library operations and services in conformity of the policies established by the Board of Trustees and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

 The Library Director must possess leadership skills, independent judgment, and initiative in planning and overseeing the management and administration of the library.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Library Board of Trustees in the development of library policies, and delivery of library services to meet individual, community, and regional needs.

 This Public Library Director position is currently funded up to a maximum amount of $65,000.00 annually (depending on qualifications and experience).
