Responsibilities

The Corporate Archives Internship provides the opportunity to gain experience in archival arrangement, description, and preservation with paper and born-digital materials. Reporting to the Corporate Archivist, the Intern will gain hands-on experience processing corporate special collections of historical materials for access, research, and exhibition use. Projects include identifying, rehousing, labeling, inventorying materials, writing archival finding aids, converting legacy media files, support of oral history and 3D collection inventory projects.

Qualifications

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Enrollment in a graduate level Library and/or Archival management program
  • Basic understanding of archival processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to ask clarifying questions, troubleshoot, and solve problems
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications (MS Office Suite, etc.)
