The Middle East, Africa, and Asia Division (MEAAD) actively supports the teaching and research mission of the Harvard Library by acquiring, processing, and preserving research materials in South and Southeast Asian Studies for Harvard Library.
Under the supervision of the Head, MEAAD, the Librarian for South and Southeast Asia is responsible for shaping, directing, and managing the Library’s humanities and social science collections related to the interdisciplinary study of South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka), Southeast Asia (Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand), and the Indian Ocean islands (Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, etc.).
