The Custom Solutions team at Getty Images are looking for freelance archive support. We produce global still & video shoots for a large non-profit client and we are seeing an increase in the volume of production which requires additional freelance support for our Digital Asset Manager. As a freelance Archive Assistant, your main role would be to assist the Digital Asset Manager in the ingestion and management of assets within the external DAM system. You would assist in tasks including (but not limited to): asset ingestion, bulk metadata application, and media release pairing and tracking.

You are meticulously organized, a skilled multi-tasker and exceptionally deadline driven.

Job Summary:

  • Assist with asset processing and ingestion into external DAM system
  • Communicate with contributors to track asset and media release document delivery
  • Bulk metadata application in DAM system
  • Media release pairing, tracking and associated metadata application

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • A flexible attitude, strong multi-tasking and follow up skills with the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing and demanding environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimum supervision to accomplish goals and manage tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Solid understanding of all facets of metadata strategy, including related methodologies and website search functionality.
  • Familiarity with file formats for visual resources including photo and video.

Education and Experience

  • Background including metadata standards, authority control and the organization of digital assets.
  • Master of Library Science (MLIS) or Master of Information Management (MSIM) strongly preferred.
  • Experience using MS Office Products required. Experience working with DAM systems a plus.
