UConn School of Law: Part-time Evening Weekend Library Assistant, (Hartford, CT)

The University of Connecticut School of Law is seeking applicants for a part-time evening/weekend library assistant. The primary role of the position is to assist with the supervision of evening/weekend law library operations and circulation activities. This includes supervision of student employees, opening and closing the building, as well as assisting library users and enforcing library policies. Will also perform activities related to materials processing and content delivery to library users.

Minimum Qualifications:

•         Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

•         Ability to communicate effectively and courteously.

•         Strong collaboration, oral, and written communication, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.

•         Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records with a strong attention to detail.

•         Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.

•         Demonstrated ability to resolve issues by using existing procedures and practices.

•         Ability to work evenings and/or weekend hours.

Appointment Term:

This is a 25  hour a week temporary position for an initial period of six months, with the potential to renew. Work Hours are:  Summer – Negotiable within Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 Academic Year (Starts August 28, 2023) – Monday-Thursday 6:00pm-10:00pm & Sunday 11:00-7:00.

Starting Salary: $19.00 per hour
