The Sandown Public Library is looking for you: an energetic and creative professional with experience in programming and collection development for children and teens. This position takes the lead in handling services related to children and teens including outreach, collection management, reader’s advisory and reference.

The ideal candidate has experience working with children, a knowledge of children’s books, the ability to multitask, and excellent communication skills.  Other qualities include an interest in youth programming development and a desire to be part of a dynamic team.  Creativity, organizational skills, reliability, and flexibility are also a must. 

This librarian will work collaboratively with our Lead Programmer to design and execute high quality programs for our younger patrons.  They will head up our youth collection development; not just looking for the newest, high-quality items, but also on the lookout for titles that will be a reader’s next favorite book. Comfort and experience working with middle- and high-schoolers is essential.
