Library Media Specialist, Dedham Public School, (Dedham, MA)

The Dedham Public Schools District places a high value on the library media program and the support this program provides to our students and staff. A full-time librarian is on staff at each of the seven schools in the district: the High School, Middle School, all four elementary schools, and the Early Childhood Education Center’s Discovery Center. The seven library media specialists frequently collaborate to support classroom teachers offering effective practices to their schools and strive to provide equitable access and learning opportunities to the diverse student population in our community. As a team, they have collaborated to develop a Library Media Center Five Year Plan, with a focus on collaborative teaching, curriculum integration, and classroom support, which guides their program.
