Information Services Librarian, Morse Institute Library, (Natick, MA)

The Morse Institute Library has an opening for a creative and enthusiastic part-time Information Services Librarian (19 hours per week.) The Morse Institute Library is a library with strong community support in the town of Natick.

This is a position that offers a lot of latitude for growth, and there are many available opportunities for the right candidate to support and grow the position in new and exciting directions both inside the physical library, and out into the Natick community. Under the supervision of the Information Services Supervisor, the Information Services Librarian plans, organizes, and oversees services for adults, including reference assistance and reader’s advisory. They engage with the community, supporting outreach efforts throughout the library.

The position also includes occasional work with the Programming Librarian in developing programming for adults; participating in collection development; and staffing shifts at the information desk.

The ideal candidate would also have strong technology skills, and familiarity with social media platforms. Experience with Springshare apps, Sierra, bilingual abilities and/or basic computer troubleshooting skills are a plus.

The Information Services Librarian should have a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited institution, and have a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. In exceptional circumstances, specialized education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for part of the educational requirements.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position (19 hours per week) starting at $33.87/hr. There is a set weekly schedule including Saturdays and two evenings a week.
