Library Director, Rumford Public Library, (Rumford, ME)

The Rumford Public library Board of Trustees is currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, innovative Director to lead its community into the future.

Summary of responsibilities: The Director administers, develops and oversees all aspects of library operation, including personnel selection, supervision and evaluation of the staff. Collection development and maintenance, policies and procedures and community relations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a through working knowledge of modern library policies, practices, technologies and trends, strong people and task management skills are essential.

Educational requirements: A Masters degree in Library Science from a credited college or university is strongly preferred. A Bachelors Degree plus substantial work experience in a management position at a public library may be considered in lieu of a Master’s Degree.

This is a full time, (35 hour a week) position and includes some regular evening hours and occasional weekend hours. Starting salary 45,000-49,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.
