Tabor Academy’s Strategic Marketing & Communications (SMAC) department is looking for enthusiastic and talented Archives Interns (2 positions). Interns will work collaboratively with Tabor’s Archivist and SMAC team to conduct research into Tabor’s history using primary sources.
Tabor Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory boarding and day school in Marion, Massachusetts. As the School by the Sea, Tabor offers an uncommonly beautiful setting in which to live and learn for students grades 9-12. The school provides a wide breadth of academic offerings for students to explore their interests, understand their strengths, and develop their critical thinking and communication skills.
Tabor Academy has a rich history that dates back to 1876 when the school was founded by Elizabeth Taber. Mrs. Taber had a lofty vision for the institution, including building character of young people from across the country. About the Position
Reports to:
Archivist and Director of SMAC
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Research topics related to Tabor’s history
- Search for images, graphics, and assets related to these topics
- Writing and editing assignments possible
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and abilities:
- Organized, manages time well, efficient at managing projects and content
- Ability to work within databases and search archival material online
- Ability to work with old, fragile, and high-allergen materials
- Strong attention to detail
Schedule:
This is a paid internship, $15/hour, up to 30 hours a week each, June-August. Archives interns may have the opportunity to continue work beyond the summer.
