The University Library at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is searching for a World Languages Cataloging Coordinator (Clinical Assistant Professor). This position will lead a dedicated team applying descriptive metadata standards to materials in Slavic, Romance, Germanic, Asian, African and other world languages. Duties and Responsibilities: The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library seeks an experienced and forward-thinking professional to serve in the position of World Languages Cataloging Coordinator. Reporting to the Head of the Acquisitions and Cataloging Services (ACS) unit, the World Languages Cataloging Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the World Languages Cataloging Team within the unit. This Team is responsible for cataloging materials in multiple languages of Asia, Africa, Europe, the Western Hemisphere, etc. The Coordinator provides leadership within the Library for non-English language cataloging, by collaborating with other units in the Library to determine appropriate workflows and assess ongoing non-English cataloging needs. The Coordinator provides training, documentation, and communication of national rules and standards related to non-English language cataloging and works with others to determine local cataloging policies.
