Boston Landmarks Orchestra is looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to be the orchestra’s
link to the community, and to remain laser-focused on our work to amplify the role of the arts in building community.
Landmarks Orchestra is committed to ensuring that the transformative power of music is available to all. We are currently seeking a full-time Community Engagement Coordinator to:
-Act as the key liaison to our targeted communities in Roxbury, Chelsea, Mattapan, and East
Boston;
-Connect with community leaders, artists, and supporters; and
-Design, implement and schedule community activities.

The orchestra’s main performance location has traditionally been the iconic Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. We are expanding to include the neighborhoods of Roxbury, Chelsea, Mattapan, and East Boston.
The role: Community Engagement Coordinator
What you’ll do
You’ll be a key member of small but mighty team, charged with leading our work in the community.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Identify, cultivate and steward our community partners in Landmarks’ engagement work.
- Act as the central point of contact among staff, board, funders and the community.
- Be a visible presence in the community, including attending outside events and meetings as appropriate.
- Format information for internal and external communication – emails, presentations, reports.
- Introduce Landmarks to community organizations
- Independently perform special projects such as researching information and compiling reports
- Organize meetings, including scheduling, reminders, and follow up

- Connect people from different backgrounds to further artistic and institutional goals
- Have exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Are proficient at project management
- Have strong connections within the communities of Roxbury, Chelsea, Mattapan, and East Boston
- Must be fluent in English; Spanish a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Co-Executive Directors, manage all aspects of Landmarks’ outreach activities,
including:
-Developing a multi-faceted and innovative community engagement plan that includes in-person and
virtual activities.
-Design, facilitate and implement work in the community.
-Coordinate logistics for engagement activities, including with orchestra members.
-Oversee the orchestra’s accessibility initiatives, including ASL and disability services.
Pay and hours
This is a 40 hr/week non-exempt position and qualifies for benefits. The salary range is $48,000 – $52,000 annually. You can work remotely up to three days/week, except in July and August, our main performance season. Hours are 10am-5pm, with occasional early evening hours for community programs/events and concerts.
