Who You Are:

Getty Images is seeking a Knowledge Management Intern for an approximately three-month-long paid internship opportunity. You are a current student or recent graduate from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program in Library and Information Science (MLIS, MLS).

You will gain hands-on knowledge management experience to learn best practices for managing digital files, content, and knowledge resources and implement changes to help build our self-serve knowledge library.

You are comfortable with working remotely and have a keen curiosity about learning new tools and technologies, including Microsoft SharePoint and Slack, to develop and curate information. You have a strong understanding of collections maintenance and search strategies and understand the importance of highlighting resources to serve and inform a broader community.

Your Next Challenge:

Shadow and support the Enterprise Knowledge Management team to learn standard methodologies in curating, managing, and highlighting user-facing digital resources.
Assist with the assessment, review, and migration of content in line with enterprise information architecture standards to build or design intranet sites.
Gain technical experience with a knowledge management system (SharePoint), migration tool (ShareGate), and communications tool (Slack).
Partner with a team of cross-functional subject matter experts to surface key resources and highlight opportunities to improve knowledge sharing.
Assist with the curation of the company’s self-service knowledge library, expanding your skills and experience in a business setting.
Learn from teams across the business who work in archive management, training and enablement, and knowledge management.

What You’ll Need:

Minimum 1-year completion of ALA-accredited Master in Library and Information Science (MLIS, MLS) or comparable program.
Knowledge and experience of knowledge management and/or collections management principles.
Strong technical capabilities including ease with digital workspaces and cloud-based file storage systems.
Highly effective interpersonal skills with a passion for user-centric service.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to adjust to shifting priorities.
Ability to focus and stay in good communication while working remotely.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive a plus.
Experience with taxonomy and managed metadata or cataloging standards preferred.
Interest in learning about other areas of the Getty Images business ideal.

$18 – $22 an hour

The starting salary range for this position at time of posting is $18.00 USD to $22.00 USD per hour. Getty Images has different ranges in different locations within the US, and this range represents the starting base pay range. Actual compensation will depend on factors including but not limited to: qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, certification, business needs, performance, and level of responsibility along with the requirements of the position.
