Clemson University Libraries seeks an outgoing, collaborative, and creative librarian to guide and direct the services and collections at the Gunnin Architecture Library.  The Emery A. Gunnin Architecture Library is a two-story facility located in Lee Hall on the Clemson campus and supports programs in art, architecture, city and regional planning, construction, landscape architecture, real estate development, and historic preservation. The collection includes over 36,000 circulating volumes, over 100 print periodicals, a media collection, and over 500 rare books. The Art & Architecture Librarian will play a key role in activities related to embedded librarianship, building relationships with faculty, providing opportunities for experiential learning for students, expanding engagement in state-of-the-art facilities, and supporting programs in Charleston, SC and Genoa, Italy. The Gunnin Architecture Library also manages the Clemson Design Center Library, located in Charleston, SC, to support the Center’s award-winning service learning studios for undergraduates in architecture and landscape architecture and graduate students in historic preservation. This position will be critical to the Libraries’ strategic growth as an R1 institution. 

The Architecture Librarian provides research assistance, instruction, collection development, and outreach for the School of Architecture, Nieri Department of Construction, Development, and Planning, and the Department of Art. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and departments to develop and support innovative programs and services. Library faculty are members of the academic community, with responsibilities in the areas of librarianship, scholarship, and service. This is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position in the Teaching, Learning, & Research division and works under the direction of the Head of Teaching & Learning Department. 

Faculty rank and minimum salary of $71,700 based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
