The Lynnfield Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative person to join our
collaborative and friendly team as a part-time Circulation Technician. This is a great position for
someone who loves serving the public in a warm and welcoming community with expectations
for high quality services. Circulation Technicians provide a wide variety of basic library services
using an automated library circulation system, requiring some substantive knowledge of the
library’s collections, services, systems, policies and procedures. This 8 hour/week position
performs circulation desk procedures, including, but not limited to, checking in and checking
out of materials, registering new patrons, updating patron accounts, and more.

$17.48 – $20.04 / hour. This position is 8 hrs per week and is a part of the union. Additional pay
steps in 5 year increments.

Qualifications:

Graduation from college or the equivalent academic and/or professional experience.
Upon hiring, applicants must be able to work a minimum of eight (8) hours per week as
described below. In addition, this employee will join our Saturday rotation, working a half day
one Saturday per four-week rotation, and may have one evening shift until 9 pm. The current
shifts are Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9am – 1pm and one Saturday per four-week
rotation.
