Description:
York Public Library is seeking an outgoing and dependable Assistant Librarian to coordinate and run library programming for adults. This position will also be required to staff the Library’s public service areas. The winning candidate must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; be technologically savvy, self-motivated, detail-oriented; and be able to perform duties effectively. Experience with planning programs and events is essential; experience with multigenerational audiences is a bonus.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, though equivalent schooling and applicable work experience may be substituted. Experience in Sierra library software and design platforms such as Canva or Adobe is desirable.
This position is for 15-20 hours per week, with additional shifts available as needed. The schedule will include 1-2 evenings per week and 1-2 Saturdays per month. Compensation starting range is from $19.00-$21.68 per hour. This position includes paid leave.
