The Circulation Desk Assistant is responsible for providing customer service and guidance to library patrons. This position works a combination of evening hours (Monday-Thursday, 3 pm-8 pm) and weekend hours.
Duties:
- Register patrons in the CLAMS automated library system.
- Charge and discharge library materials to library patrons, including items on reserve.
- Assist patrons in the use of the photocopier and answer directional questions.
- Refer patrons to the Reference Desk.
- Produce College student ID cards.
- Shelve library materials.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Thorough knowledge of basic computer applications.
- Ability to pay strict attention to detail.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with the CLAMS or Sierra library systems.
- Experience working with diverse populations.

COMPENSATION: $17.00 per hour, 14 hours per week when classes are in session. Part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position.
