Love the city of Boston? Want to share your enthusiasm and knowledge with new and returning visitors?
We are seeking service-oriented, engaging individuals to work as Customer Service Reps in the Visitor Information Center at Boston Common.
Become a member of a dedicated team tasked with engaging visitors and helping them explore the amazing city of Boston! These are part-time, 15 – 25 hour per week positions and the work schedule will require some weekend hours.
If you are a high school graduate, home for the summer or just looking for a great part-time job and have any of the following – great communication skills, like helping others, enthusiasm for Boston, and/or basic working knowledge of the city, please apply!
Individuals who can speak other languages would be an asset but is not a requirement.
You will:
- Welcome all visitors to the city with a friendly attitude
- Maintain an organized work environment
- Remain informed of local events, GBCVB membership and programs
- Provide visitors with creative ideas of how to spend their time
- Stock all brochure racks with current literature
- Sell attraction and tour tickets
- Sell merchandise
- Other such duties that may be assigned
Position Details:
- Part-time, 15 – 25 hours per week; some weekend work required.
- Work is in-person. Remote work options are not available for this position.
- COVID-19 considerations: All staff are required to submit proof of having received a COVID immunization.
Requirements
- Excellent customer services skills
- Basic working knowledge of Boston & Cambridge
- Prior retail/point of sale experience preferred, but not required
- Prior concierge and/or tourism center experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work some weekends and holidays required
- Ability to commute and arrive on-time required
- Must to comfortable with wearing a uniform (uniform shirt & pants)
