The Frances Loeb Library at the Harvard Graduate School of Design is seeking a full-time temp to join the Access Services team for a 90-day appointment.
The Frances Loeb Library’s physical collection in Gund Hall is in the process of being redistributed and reorganized within the library space. The temp will be joining a team of staff and students and assist in the completion of the stacks reorganization. Since the library is open during this process the temp position will combine elements of Access Services and Collection Management. Specifically, the temp will be working on maintaining mapping and finding aids for the parts of the collection that are being moved. Assist with the removal of items that are being transferred to storage or deaccessioned. Assist with and supervise student workers shifting parts of the collection. Process cataloging changes for withdrawn materials. Assist patrons both in the stacks and at the circulation counter. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in Collection Management, Supervision of student workers and the provision of Access Services.
The work schedule could potentially include evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

- Full Time (35-40 hours/week)
- Payrate: $17.00/hour
- Job Start Date: 2/27/23 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Working at the library can involve lifting 40 lbs. bins, shelving books on shelves ranging up to 9 feet in height and pushing book carts weighing 50-75 lbs. However, we will always explore options for necessary accommodations, and we encourage everyone with an interest in library services to apply.
