Description
The Simmons Master of Public Health Program is seeking a part-time Graduate Assistant to support the ongoing growth and operations of this online graduate program focused on advancing health equity. The student will work approximately 10-12 hours per week during the spring semester and summer, with the possibility of renewal the following academic year. This position reports to Professors Shelley White and Meenakshi Verma-Agrawal, Directors of the MPH Program.
The position will involve, but will not be limited to: project management and program support (i.e. compiling and design of reports and accreditation materials, preparation of marketing materials, review and quality check of curricular materials); program research (i.e. gathering data on curricula, accreditation requirements, learning frameworks, etc.); administrative supports, communications, and meeting management (i.e. scheduling, notetaking, hospitality, etc.), and media projects (i.e. maintaining social media presence, creating the monthly newsletter, interviewing members of the Simmons community for the blog, etc.). This position offers the exciting opportunity to learn about and support the operations of an educational programming, and to support the advancement of public health, health equity, and social justice.
The position will begin as a spring semester post, from January-July of 2023, with potential for continuing work in the following academic year, contingent upon program needs and student performance. Students must be enrolled in at least two courses (8 credits) and must maintain a grade of “B” or better in each course to be eligible. Student must be available to schedule regular shifts during East coast business hours.
