YOUNG ADULT SERVICES /SENIOR LIBRARIAN, Reuben Hoar Library, (Littleton, MA)

The Town of Littleton is looking for a responsible librarian for selecting, inventory, weeding, and collection development of all print and non-print resources within the Young Adult collection.  Participates in the maintenance of the adult print and non-print resources.  Plans and delivers Young Adult programming and community outreach.  Maintains library presence on social media sites for Young Adults.  Provides first-line information and assistance to patron research using library collections, databases, and Internet and community resources.  Functions as daily, evening, and weekend building supervisor having first response responsibility for the staff, facility, and public. Performs all other related work as required.
 
Functions include but are not limited to directly overseeing all aspects of Young Adult Services and supervising all work occurring within the Young Adult division.  They will offer some reference services and may plan some adult programming.
 
Manages the judicious expenditure of the Young Adult materials budget by selecting, developing, and assessing the print and non-print Young Adult Collection.
 
 
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
A Masters Degree in Library Science from an accredited school, as well as three to five years of experience in public library service. Experience with reference services. Proficient in using Microsoft Office or similar software; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
 
This is a Grade 11 benefit-eligible position for 37.5 hours per week, a non-exempt position classified under the Town’s Classification and Compensation Plan Anticipated hiring range: is $60,193.13 – $75,187.58 ($30.75 – $38.41 per hour.) Team member benefits include county pension, Blue Cross health insurance, dental, life insurance, and short and long-term disability. Mandatory Saturday work hours are expected.
