Description
The Hull Public Library is seeking a motivated and creative individual to fill a part–time (15-18 hours per week) non-benefited union position. Hull is a vibrant, coastal town on the South Shore of Massachusetts with a population of 10,000. The Library is located in the historic former summer home of Irish poet John Boyle O’Reilly in Hull Village.
Working under the direct supervision of the Library Director, the Adult Services Librarian will develop, deliver and evaluate all aspects of adult programming; perform readers’ advisory services and lead book discussions; and work directly with the public at the Library’s single service desk, assisting patrons with both informational and/or involved reference questions.
Work schedule to include evenings, two Saturdays per month and shifts on the service desk.
Qualifications
Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited institution preferred; candidates with a bachelor’s degree who are currently enrolled in library school will be considered and are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.
All candidates must have library experience as well as knowledge and familiarity with developing programs. Excellent communication, technology and public service skills are also required.
