SHORT TERM PROJECT ARCHIVIST for PRIVATE PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION – Boston area

Description

The estate of a local award winning, social activist photographer is seeking a reliable project archivist to process the 50 year photo collection and associated materials. The collection consists of well ordered negatives and slides, photography prints of all sizes, digital library and associated project print materials.

The motivated graduate student or emerging professional must have prior experience processing art collections and have a keen interest in social activism of the past 50 years. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail oriented, able to work independently and skilled with Microsoft Excel.

This is a paid short term position, anticipated to take 40 hours. Scheduling is flexible and takes place in home studio accessible by bus. Project to be completed by March 30. Finished project to be used for professional appraisal.

All candidates must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and boosters. Compensation: $20 per hour
