Office of Advancement Paid Internship Opportunity (on campus and/or remote), Simmons University, (Boston, MA)

Simmons University’s Office of Advancement is seeking students to support the exciting work of our busy, multi-faceted team. Advancement partners with Alumnae/i Relations and other departments to develop relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors who support Simmons’ strategic priorities, programs, and students. You will report to the Assistant Vice President of Corporate and Foundation Relations but will work with various members across the Advancement team and will interact with administrative and academic colleagues across the campus.

Responsibilities

Some of the projects you will work on include:

  1. Conducting prospect research and writing prospect research memos about individuals, foundations, and corporations
  2. Helping the donor relations team to prepare stewardship reports that tell donors about the impact of their philanthropy
  3. Helping to update individual, corporate, and foundation records in the fundraising database by doing research on LinkedIn, corporate websites, and the Internet 
  4. Helping to update donor and prospect records by adding in documentation such as gift agreements, proposals, reports, etc.
  5. Perform other administrative duties, as requested

This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in research, writing, donor relations, and who wish to learn about working for an institution of higher education.

Requirements

Required skills include excellent research and writing, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Prior experience working in databases is preferred.

Salary range: $17 per hour for up to 20 hours per week.
