Evening Circulation Supervisor, D’Amour Library, Western New England University, Springfield, MA

Job Description

Western New England University has an immediate opening for a part-time, Evening Circulation Supervisor in D’Amour Library. Working as part of the Circulation team duties include: providing direct service to library users, supervising Circulation Desk evening operations, handling circulation transactions and course reserves, resolving user issues, training, and supervising student staff, and opening and/or closing the Library.

This is a 9-month, academic year position, mid-August to mid-May with summers off. The work schedule
normally consists of 22-24 hours per week, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some holidays and additional coverage during exam periods may be required due to the academic calendar.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date for this position is January 18, 2023.

Qualifications

Skills needed: Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Experience with standard
office applications, especially Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer
applications and equipment.

Minimum experience: Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred. Prior library
experience preferred.

Education: High school diploma required.
