Job Description
The Reading Public Library seeks a service-oriented information professional passionate about developing inclusive public library collections. The Librarian II – Collection Services ensures users receive high-quality and equitable library service and easy access to physical and digital collections.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Collection Services, the Librarian II is part of a collaborative team that provides direct patron assistance at two public service desks. This person also
- analyzes community trends and library data;
- builds culturally competent collections
- intentionally provides materials by and for underrepresented communities;
- identifies accessibility gaps and implements creative and thoughtful solutions.
The successful candidate will support RPL’s core values of Education, Equity, Access, and Accountability. Excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a positive attitude are essential.
Salary
This is a non-exempt full-time (37.5 hours/week) position, including one evening and a Saturday rotation. The expected hiring range is $68,000-$72,000 and includes benefits and ample professional development opportunities.
