Assistant Library Director, Reuben Hoar Library, Littleton, MA

The Reuben Hoar Library is seeking qualified applicants for a 40 hours/week, benefit eligible position as Assistant Director at the Reuben Hoar Library. Working under the general direction of Library Director, responsibilities include assisting the Library Director in the planning, organization, supervision, development and administration of all library services, personnel operations and programs. This position is also responsible for running the Technical Services department. Responsible for most acquisitions of materials and processing. The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator, professional, friendly and well versed in the use and management of machine readable bibliographic records according to nationally accepted technical standards. Requirements

Successful candidate will have a Master’s degree from an accredited school and at least five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in library administration with automated systems or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of contemporary bibliographic maintenance standards and practices, including Anglo-American cataloging rules, Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress subject headings, OCLC/MARC records and library automation systems. Strong knowledge of integrated library systems, especially all cataloging and acquisition modules.

Salary

Salary range is $72,829.44-90,953.28 commensurate with experience. This is a non-exempt position is governed by the Personnel By-Law.
