VR Specialist (Less than Half Time), Cabot Science Library, Cambridge, MA

Description:

The position of Virtual Reality Specialist plays an important role in the deployment, maintenance, and promotion of Cabot’s collection of over 100 VR headsets. Supervisor is Susan Berstler, Emerging Technology Specialist, Creative Technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Will reset and clean VR headsets used for classroom projects as well as student assignments.
Will maintain an inventory of working headsets and peripherals.
May be requested to provide in class support for specific assignments and/or labs.
May be requested to provide open house demos highlighting the technology either at the Cabot Discovery Bar or in the Hive (Cabot’s VR studio).

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

Experience with VR headsets a must.
Ability to troubleshoot technology is a requirement.
Good communications skills are mandatory.
Ability to work independently is desired.

Schedule

5-10 hours per week

Salary Range: $20.00 – $22.00 / week
