The librarian, in conjunction with other professional librarians, provides reference services and information literacy instruction. Participates in department assessment projects and Open Education Resources (OER) support.
- Provides in-person and remote reference services to all library users, includes regular shifts on the reference desk.
- Participates in the Information Literacy Instruction program by teaching classes as needed.
- Participates in assessment of reference and information literacy services.
- Participates in the college’s Open Education Resources (OER) efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school;
- Three (3) years’ experience and/or training that includes library operations, reference service, bibliographic instruction, circulation service, copy cataloging, and library information systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse community.

PREFERRED:
- Two years of higher education experience;

Part-Time, Non-Benefited, MCCC unit position
Salary: $30.03/hour
Hours: 962 hours annually–primarily concentrated during the fall and spring semesters
Funding Source: Grant (Title III)Start Date: January 2, 2023
