The TTUHSC Libraries in Lubbock is currently accepting applications for a Reference and Research Librarian. Reporting to the Associate Managing Director, the incumbent will provide reference and research assistance, serve as liaison for the School of Nursing, and provide instruction to students, faculty, and staff. Supervisory responsibilities include providing ongoing direction and supervision of the Lubbock Interlibrary Loan department. This position includes an opportunity for non-tenured faculty associate appointment in the TTUHSC School of Medicine.
Located on the South Plains of West Texas, TTUHSC is a growing clinical and research institution with an enrollment of over 5,300 students in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Population and Public Health, and School of Pharmacy. There are three physical campuses in Amarillo, Lubbock, and Odessa that support on-campus and distance education students. Details:
Salary: $56,000 per year with excellent benefits including ample paid vacation and holidays as well as a generous professional development program including funding for conference attendance and training.
Job Type: Full-time, onsite.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Duties:
– Participate in the reference, liaison, and education functions of the library that includes orientations and training sessions, in-person and virtual reference assistance, and liaison support for the School of Nursing.
– Develop informational materials such as tutorials and instructional videos addressing information literacy and evidence-based concepts.
– Communicate library services and resources to onsite and distance students, faculty, and staff.
– Maintain and enhance LibGuides content pertaining to areas of responsibility.
– Provide assistance with the Libraries’ systematic review service.
– Provide ongoing direction and supervision of the Interlibrary Loan department.
– Coordinate Friends’ of the Library and contract services.
Ideal Candidates Will Need:
– Master of Library Science or its equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution.
– Minimum of 2 years of experience working in libraries with demonstrated increased levels of responsibility.
– Experience providing library instruction in a college or university setting.
– Demonstrated knowledge of best practices and trends in copyright.
