Library Building & Grounds Attendant, Sherborn Library, Sherborn, MA

Description:

The Building Attendant works 16 hours a week. Some weeknight and weekend shifts are required as part of the rotating schedule shared by all staff. Responsibilities include light custodial duties, knowledge of building controls and scheduling a list of maintenance priorities, record-keeping, checking inventory and supplies, a willingness to answer phones, monitoring the space for public security and safety, inspection of the grounds for upkeep, safety and access under seasonal conditions. Helps direct tasks of contractual cleaning service. May provide direction to the public in the use of the building and help manage events.

Compensation: $20.65 an hour

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, relevant training and experience. Familiarity with libraries is helpful. Familiarity with an array of technology currently offered in the public library setting and fluency with office management programs is beneficial. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs., operate light equipment and have clear verbal and written communication skills.
