Description:
The Town of Hamden is seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated, goal oriented Teen Librarian II. The Teen Librarian II is Supervises the strategic implementation of teen services by directing service and programming for and with young adults and those who work with young adults.
The Teen Librarian will independently be responsible in decision making of the library-based services and tasks for the Teen Department, including collection development, and will guide youth as they explore, create, and grow while using library resources. The Teen Librarian is integral in connecting the Teen Space to the rest of library services. While working under the Manager of Children, Teen and Family Services the Teen Librarian will act as collaborator and advocate between teens and other town departments.
Qualifications:
Master of Library Science degree from an accredited university and previous experience working with and developing programs for teens, or a certified Media Specialist. Or is currently working toward completing a Master of Library Science degree from an accredited university or college within a year and has previous experience working with and developing programs for teens. This experience does not have to be in a library setting.
